<< BACK New Cut Bridge, Ipswich The Landscape Partnership was invited to submit an entry for a competition to design a new pedestrian and cycle bridge across New Cut West at Ipswich Docks. The proposed bridge has been designed to reflect the changing land uses in the area: the shift from commercial port to vibrant, regenerated mixed uses. The 4D bridge would deliver the concept through shape, materials, sound and light, changing in appearance from day to night. The design incorporates a double curved space frame and helix arch that balances the structure and would provide a key focal point in the redevelopment of the wet dock. |
