Green Infrastructure Strategy for the
Cambridge
Sub-Region
A strategy to provide an enduring 20-year vision for the development of green infrastructure within the Cambridge Sub-Region. The study involved the collation and analysis of a wide range of data sets for the County and sub-region using GIS.
The main deficits and opportunities in green infrastructure for the area were identified. Themes included access, bio-diversity and landscape character, and the role of the various major development sites outlined in the sub-region was considered. The project involved a wide range of stakeholder consultation and proposals for the implementation and management of the areas of open space.
The study was selected for a planning award by the Landscape Institute.
